Reformed Theological Seminary Hosting Conferences

One of our Calvin500 Sponsors, Reformed Theological Seminary, is hosting conferences at two sites this month. Try to make either if you can.


On Feb. 17, RTS/Charlotte will host a John Calvin Conference with Dr. Paul Wells, founding member of Aix-en-Provence Seminary  (Paris) and teacher of Systematic Theology. The schedule is as follows: (The lectures will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning and conclude by noon.)

Lecture 1: The Structure of Mediation

Lecture 2: Christ in Creation and Redemption

Lecture 3: The Offices of the Mediator



RTS/Orlando will host the 2009 Kistemaker Academic Lecture Series (KALS) Feb. 24-25 in the Pamplin Chapel. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Herman J. Selderhuis who is a professor of church history and church polity at Theologische Universiteit Apeldoorn in the Netherlands. He is also the director of the Institute for Reformation Research (Apeldoorn) and is the general secretary of the International Calvin Congress. He is also the author of several articles and books on the Reformation, includingCalvin’s Theology of the Psalms and the soon to be released John Calvin: A Pilgrim’s Life.  Both books are available by calling the RTS/Orlando Campus Bookstore at 800-390-726 or 407-366-7056, ext. 239.

Selderhuis will give four lectures on “The Rediscovery of John Calvin”. His lectures are as follows:

Tuesday, Feb. 24

Lecture 1: Calvin: The Myth and The Man (11-11:50a.m.)

Lecture 2: Calvin: Man of One Book (1-1:20p.m.)


Wednesday, Feb. 25

Lecture 3: Calvin: Longing for Luther (11-11:50a.m.)

Community Lunch: 12-1p.m.

Lecture 4: Calvin: And Yet Not a Calvinist (1-1:20p.m.)
